Monday, January 5: NEW CITY/NEW YEAR/NEW TOYS
All students by 11, lunch & snacks, new toys to share (optional) Welcome to Apple City as we set up a variety of free choice areas for our lucky students--from a barber/beauty shop, to a vet office, to a cafe, to a toy repair shop--where will you work? We'll also enjoy a New Year’s Party with dancing and games, fun skits, and a story about lost toys. We'll finish the day with some popcorn and the ultimate toy film, Toy Story 3!
Tuesday January 6: BEAR DAY
All students by 11, board game to share and one stuffed bear (or animal, small sized please), bear movie (optional) lunch & snacks
Please don't forget to bring your stuffed bear or small sized animal for a visit! You can achoose to enter a teddy bear drawing contest or work on a book all about your own bear--height, weight, favorite foods, etc.! Later, we'll treat our bears to new hats, scarves or vests--that we make ourselves from socks! When we take our friends outside they'll enjoy rides on our parachute, and the game Bear, Bear, Goldilocks (not Duck, Duck, Goose)! Don't forget about Apple city as your bear might want to visit the vet, cafe or barber shop too this afternoon. We'll finish our celebration as we enjoy our favorite bear movies and popcorn.
Wednesday Jan 7 WORLD RECORD DAY
All students by 11, lunch & snacks, hiking shoes (weather permitting hike up Cow Hill)
It's time to set our own Apple records; who can jump rope the longest, throw for the most distance, hula hoop and more. Later, we'll learn about some of the more famous Gods and Goddesses of Mount Olympus,then we'll team up and break some records of our own as we head up Cow Hill for some SILLY OLYMPIC GAMES (running backwards, throwing a paper plate discus, etc.). Finally, help us set a new record by helping us bake (and date) Apple's biggest cookie ever!
Thursday Jan 8 GIANT GAMES GALORE
All students by 11, lunch & snacks, favorite board games
Today the Apple classroom will transform into a life size version of both the beloved board games, Cnady Land and Clue. We’ll begin by designing our own game pieces for an afternoon game of life size Candy Land – Peppermint forest and all! In our interactive version of the game we'll compete to see who can reach Candy Castle, and who is in the library with the candlestick. Later with life size legos we'll design castles to play capture the flag! In the p.m. we’ll enjoy playing Apples to Apples, Apple Scattegories, and a board game potluck as we share!
Friday, Jan 9 SLUMBER PARTY AND STONE SOUP DAY
All students by 9, p.j’s & pillow, $7 for pizza and video games; trip approx. 11:30-2:00, soup item to share
We'll begin the day by reading our favorite books and then acting act some of them as we create our own skits! We'll then become junior chefs as we chop and peel our favorite veggies to create our own soup--after reading the story of Stone Soup and using a magical stone of course. Finally it's all about the slumber party as we enjoy ghost stories, pillow fights and silly games, and of course some delicious home made soup with the fun movie, The Little Rascals

New students not currently attending Magic or Apple schools $80 per day NOTE: Current Magic or Apple students (paying Jan 2015 regular afterschool tuition) may also attend the afternoon session of winter camp at no additional charge. Students must attend the same number of days and times as registered (11-5:30 full day K, 2-530 grades 1-6, 1/2 day and PM Kindergartners (only pre-enrolled students are guaranteed admission as we hired staff based on your requests)
